Fund to Support Local Community

Since 2007 we have supported several local schools, projects and provided grants to students with  financial hardship to continue their study or have gone above and beyond to earn education & arts. Some of the beneficiaries  are listed below. Annual Power of ONE event  has been major funding source towards this program. We have initiated this program primarily to help local community children & youth  in USA.

2020 Commitments:

  • Dover High Academy of Art $1500
  • Caesar Rodney High School Art Scholarship $1500
  • Peace Train – Helping a school in South Africa $1000

Dover High Academy of Arts

Maria Teresa Emmons: A teacher from Dover High School  is doing remarkable job promoting contemporary Dance in local community youth. Some of funds are used to purchase costumes and Stage backdrop for the shows. It helps children from low income families to perform.  Be Educated will continue to support this program.

Dover High School – Art Program

An art teacher from local school approached us in 2008, and educated us about the need of funds in arts department, and we decided to partner to aid  art education. Dover High School, Dover, DE is our regular beneficiary for years. Dover Highschool Art department has spent funds to purchase Art supplies and expand their Art program.

Central Middle School – Art Program

Pertaining to the similar needs at other school, we  supported Central Middle School Art Program in Dover, DE since 2010.

Peace Train – Helping a school in South Africa

Peace Train is a music group launched by noted artist & musician, Sharon Katz with the aim to help the needy in AIDS affected areas of South Africa. Be Educated plays an instrumental role in helping the Peace Train to build school in an area of South Africa affected by disease and famine.

Kent County Community School – Music Program

Be Educated helped Dover’s Kent County Community School to buy musical instruments for students’ music education.

Dover Art League – Grant for promoting Arts

We made few grants to Dover Art League Summer Scholarship Fund, to support Dover Art League’s initiative to promote artists and painters in Dover area.

Caesar Rodney High School – Art Scholarship

We are starting a new art scholarship $1500 at CR High School, Camden, DE to provide financial support to the art students in their college education.

$600 Financial Aid to a PHD student

Vishal was enrolled for LLM program at Brooklyn Law School in fall 2019 awarded with $11K grant from university. He hails from economically challenged family. He had to struggle to manage funds to come to USA to pursue studies.  A group led by Sandeep Chauhan from Atlanta initiated fund raising  for his tuition fees. Be educated decided to help him in this initiative. We sent $600 directly to beneficiary account.

$1000 grant to a youngest achiever

Board members Sanjay Kumar and Mahendra Kumar met Poorna Malavath in during a function in Washington DC, in month of July 2019. Poorna belongs to a tribal community from Telangana (India) and youngest achiever who climbed Mt Everest at age of 13.  She was in USA doing undergrad under student exchange program.
Board decided to provide $1000 grant to honor and help support her education. Ashok Kumar awarded her in Dallas, TX in a small function.
